iPad Dictation /via 9to5macApple released iOS 5.1 beta 3 to developers, which means that hundreds of people immediately began scouring the release for clues about upcoming Apple products. This version actually seemed to be pretty low on such hints, until 9to5mac discovered suggestions that the next iPad may sport Siri dictation, and perhaps even full-fledged Siri.

As many know by now, up to this point, Siri has only been officially available for the iPhone 4S, despite numerous jailbreak tweaks that brought varying levels of Siri functionality to older devices. Hopefully, this next software update will bring Siri to the iPad 2, maybe even the iPad 3 when that is released.

The support for this rumor comes from a text screen located in the Keyboard settings pane (above), that explains the privacy policy about data that is sent to Apple for dictation. Some say that this could be dismissed as errant code from the iPhone 4S version of the software, but because this text is located in a different section of settings, it would seem almost positive that it would have had to been put in on purpose.
