App Review: Pocket Planes (iOS)

Pocket Planes Splash ScreenToday I have a review of the free iOS games, Pocket Planes. Pocket Planes is developed by NimbleBit, the same people who created the very addictive Tiny Tower. Pocket Planes is free from the App Store for the iPhone, iPad and the iPod Touch.

The main objective of Pocket Planes is that you run your own airport inside any part of the world and you have to you carry people or cargo across airports and then expand your airport across the whole entire world.

When you first open the app, you are greeted with a very helpful tutorial that runs through all the buttons that you need to tap to et your plane in the air. Then you choose a part of the world, I chose Australia but you can choose any part of the world.

The gameplay is very smooth and intuitive. All of the buttons are in the right place and are easy to press, even on the iPhone. The design of the game is similar to Tiny Tower, with 8-bit graphics and brilliant background music.

You can unlock tiny cargo planes to massive jumbo jets and fly your planes to and from over 250 different countries. You can also customize those planes, with costumes for the pilot and a different paint job. You can also trade planes between your friends and compete in world wide competitions.

Overall Pocket Planes is a very well designed game with a very addictive gameplay style. Although many people would say it is Tiny Tower but with planes the app offers a very different gameplay style. With great graphics, music and gameplay, Pocket Planes gets 5/5.

Get this app in the app store.
