Skype already works great on Windows 8 without any issues, along with any other software that is designed for Windows 7. Today, Microsoft have announced that they will release a redesigned version specifically for Windows 8.

In other words, the new version will work perfectly with Windows 8 and include support for live tiles, the ability to interact with a touch screen, a favourite contacts option and more. The company also added snapping support – so you can use another application as well as using Skype – as well as a new dial pad, Windows 8 notifications and a “modern” design that takes advantage of the new interface option.

Skype for Windows 8 will launch alongside with Windows 8 on October 26th in the WIndows Store.
