Samsung announced at CES 2013 its latest processor for smartphones, the Exynos 5 Octa. The company says that the processor works at twice the performance of its predecessor, Samsung’s Exynos 4 Quad.
This means that new phones released by Samsung will be noticeably faster.
The processor includes two sets of four-core each. “It’s also smart enough to save energy when running certain tasks, too,” Dr. Stephen Woo, president of device solutions for Samsung said.
Samsung says that the new processor is focusing on three areas: memory, processing and display technology.
An 8-core processor for a phone is crazy. 2013 will definitely be a year of certainly fast devices from Samsung.
