Today, developers that go by the name evad3rs released the jailbreaking tool evasi0n that allows users to apply an untethered jailbreak to all iOS 6.1 supported devices – that includes the iPhone 5 and iPad Mini.
The tool is available for Linux, Mac OS and Windows users and has been in development for the past few months. Jailbreaking gives the user complete control over their iDevice, you can install third-part apps and completely change the look of the device.
The evasi0n jailbreak is the first to support Apple’s latest line of iOS devices, including the iPhone 5, iPad Mini, and fourth-gen iPad. The jailbreak also supports older devices that can be upgraded to iOS 6.1, like the iPhone 3GS, 4 and 4s and the iPod Touch 4th generation. As per usual, jailbreaking voids your warranty, and users are encouraged to also backup their devices before using the tool.
