Google recently revealed the specifications of Google Glass, but left out a few important factors, the processor, the version of Android and the amount of RAM. But thanks to the great hackers that are digging into Glass, we almost know all there is to know about the company’s new wearable device.
Thanks to hackers Liam McLoughlin and Jay Lee, we now know that Glass is running Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich, a dual-core OMAP 4430 processor and 682mb of RAM. We still don’t know what clock speed the CPU runs at, but the data was quite difficult to understand.
The specs aren’t that exciting, and to use most of the features, you need to use a companion app on a smartphone. But it’s nice to see what the wearable device is actually running on. It’s also quite odd how Glass is still using an outdated version of Android.
