Google announces Android Device Manager, Android’s answer to Find My iPhone

Android users will soon have a first-party way to locate their lost devices. The new app, named Android Device Manager, will allow users find their lost Android devices in realtime on a map, activate their ringer and wipe the device. It will be available for devices running Android 2.2 and up – which is around 98.7 of total Android devices – and it will require the device being connected to a Google account.

Apple and Microsoft have already implemented this feature into their Mobile Operating Systems, so this move has been a long time coming. Google haven’t announced a release date yet, but we are sure that it will be announced soon.
